BURNOUT
Burnout is a state of physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion that can occur when demands outweigh what you can cope with.
Burnout can happen for different reasons including:
-
A workplace or role demanding more than can what reasonably be done or causing persistently high levels of stress.
-
Giving more of your time, attention, or effort than what can be sustained long term.
-
Perfectionism.
-
Struggling to say 'no' or set limits.
-
Being asked to do something without the tools, resources, or training you need.
-
Not being valued or rewarded for your efforts.

Burnout is often seen in the workplace but can also happy to parents, family caregivers, and students. Signs of burnout include:
-
Fatigue
-
Detachment
-
Anxiety
-
Loss of motivation
-
Feeling cynical
-
Less satisfaction or joy

Unresolved burnout can lead to anxiety, depression, or health problems.
