Anxiety Therapy
I use evidence-based approaches for anxiety, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and exposure-based strategies. These approaches help us address the thoughts, behaviors, avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and fear of uncertainty that can keep anxiety going. I also integrate DBT-informed skills, nervous-system regulation strategies, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) when appropriate.
Common Symptoms of Anxiety
Anxiety can affect both the mind and body. Some common symptoms include:
-
Constant worry or overthinking
-
Racing thoughts
-
Difficulty relaxing or “shutting your brain off”
-
Panic attacks
-
Feeling on edge or easily overwhelmed
-
Trouble sleeping or insomnia
-
Muscle tension or restlessness
-
Irritability
-
Difficulty concentrating
-
Fear of making mistakes or disappointing others
-
Avoidance of stressful situations
-
Intrusive or unwanted thoughts and images
Not everyone experiences anxiety in the same way. Some people feel anxious constantly, while others notice anxiety mostly during stressful situations, relationships, health concerns, work pressures, or major life changes.
