Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety can feel exhausting. Your mind may constantly race, overanalyze conversations, anticipate worst-case scenarios, or struggle to fully relax even when things seem “fine” on the outside. For some people, anxiety shows up as constant stress and tension. For others, it looks more like panic attacks, trouble sleeping, irritability, perfectionism, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed.
Many of the adults I work with are high-functioning and capable in their daily lives, but internally they feel stuck in cycles of worry, pressure, overthinking, or mental exhaustion. Anxiety can make it difficult to slow down, feel present, trust yourself, or fully enjoy life. You do not have to stay stuck in survival mode.
Common Symptoms of Anxiety
Anxiety can affect both the mind and body. Some common symptoms include:
-
Constant worry or overthinking
-
Racing thoughts
-
Difficulty relaxing or “shutting your brain off”
-
Panic attacks
-
Feeling on edge or easily overwhelmed
-
Trouble sleeping or insomnia
-
Muscle tension or restlessness
-
Irritability
-
Difficulty concentrating
-
Fear of making mistakes or disappointing others
-
Avoidance of stressful situations
-
Intrusive or unwanted thoughts and images
Not everyone experiences anxiety in the same way. Some people feel anxious constantly, while others notice anxiety mostly during stressful situations, relationships, health concerns, work pressures, or major life changes.
Based near Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch, I provide online therapy for anxiety for adults throughout Florida.
