Hi. I'm Katie Bernard, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I knew I wanted to be a therapist a long time ago. While other kids had aspirations of being sports stars and musicians I was doing conflict resolution in the school hallways. I attended the University of South Florida where I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Social Work. I've provided therapy to folks with a variety of needs and concerns but really found my calling as a hospice social worker. I first began working with hospice patients and their families over a decade ago. There I supported my clients through a wide range of issues including grieving not just death but loss of independence and control, depression, fear and anxiety, caregiver fatigue and the complex emotions of the caregiver role, and mending relationships.
I saw a need for more individualized counseling that was more accessible to those dealing with these and other life stressors and so began my telehealth private practice.
I'm a resident of Sarasota, FL and am married with one child, a cat, and a dog.
